Can you believe it’s the last day of August already?!? Time flies when you’re sat doing nothing for months. August has been a great month for me overall, I’ve read some great books, organised my blog and signed up to some more blog tours for the end of the year! Very exciting!
I managed to read 5 books in August which isn’t as many as I wanted but hopefully in September there will be a bigger number there in my next monthly wrap up!
Blog Tour: The Witch House by Ann Rawson
I’ve only recently come across blog tours and I’m loving them! The Witch House Blog Tour organised by Red Dog Press was amazing and I loved following and reading the other reviews. I enjoyed this book way more than I thought I would. It’s the perfect read for anyone who loves mystery/thrillers with an added Witchy vibe. Read my review here.
The Flat Share by Beth O’Leary
The Flat Share quickly became one of my favourite reads of 2020. It’s such a cute non-traditional romance, which also has great humour but tackles serious issues extremely well. Read my review here.
The Switch by Beth O’Leary
The Switch is another one of my favourites so far this year. By having such a cute story with loveable characters, you can’t put the book down. If you are a fan of The Flat Share, I would definitely recommend this one. Read my review here.
Normal People by Sally Rooney
I saw a lot of mixed reviews for Normal People, so I was quite hesitant to start this book. There was a lot of hype and I was worried it wouldn’t live up to my expectations. I ended up really loving it. I am currently writing my book and TV adaptation review so watch this space!
The Bro Code by Elizabeth A. Seibert
I received this ARC for The Bro Code from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. This is the next review that I have to write and will be up in the next few days! This was a nice easy read, but a bit too much of a high school stereotype for my taste. If you love young adult romance this would be perfect! I enjoyed getting to know all the characters and how the different chapter was a different rule in the bro code. Read my review here.
September to be read
Just Like You by Nick Hornby
I received this ARC through Net Galley and I’m so excited to read it. This is on my September TBR pile, so definitely look out for that review soon. And just look at the beautiful cover art! Read my review here.
It Hurts by Nunchi Goya
Goya contacted me on Instagram to see if I would be interested in reading and reviewing It Hurts a series of short stories. I had a quick look at the book and I was interested straight away. I started reading a few of the stories as soon as I received it and the writing is beautiful. Read my review here.

The Darkest Winter Ever by C.J Clarke
Another author who contacted for a pdf copy of their book in exchange for an honest review is C.J Clarke. I’m a huge lover of mystery and thrillers so I’m super excited to read this in September! Author links below
The Wolf and the Water by Josie Jaffrey
This is probably the most exciting thing that has happened since I’ve started my blog! I applied for an ARC of The Wolf and the Water by Josie Jaffrey and I managed to get a physical copy which is signed! I’m beyond excited to read and review this book and I can’t wait for the blog tour in October so I can read everyone’s reviews. Author links below
Thank you to Net Galley, Red Dog Press, Nunchi Goya, C.J Clarke and Josie Jaffrey for all the amazing ARC’s and gifted books to read and review. I can’t wait to read all these books and more in September.
