December Book Haul

One good thing about this year and especially this month are all the purchased and gifted books I received. I really do need to get another bookcase because books are starting to overflow.

So because I have received quite a few books this month, I decided to do my first book haul post! I also have a very exciting post planned for tomorrow as well which is my Top Ten Books of 2020!

Purchased Books

Agatha Christie

I have been wanting to read some Agatha Christie Novels for ages and for my January buddy read Murder of Roger Ackroyd and The Murder on the Orient Express were both picked! So when I went to buy them I saw a collection of three and just couldn’t help myself. So now I also have And Then There Were None!

The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton

I read The Devil and the Dark Water this month as my buddy read and my boyfriend actually ended up reading it before me and he loved it. So I bought him The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle for him as a Christmas present. I’ve heard such good things about this book and I will definitely be reading it first if he doesn’t soon.

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

How have I not read this series yet? I’ve seen so many people rave about ACOTAR and I used to be a big fan of book series’ but I seem to have been reading more stand alones this year. I want to get back into reading fantasy so this seems like the perfect book to start with and then I’d obviously have to buy the rest in the series!

The Cruel Prince and The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black

This is another series that I saw everywhere before Christmas so I just had to get the first book and I just love having series’ on my bookshelves, the more the merrier!
My brother very kindly bought me book 3 of The Cruel Prince series for Christmas. I meant to put book 2 down but I told him 3 accidentally! I’m hoping to get to this series soon so I can buy The Wicked King but I have started a tbr jar for 2021 to help me stay on track of all the books I have to and want to read!

Gifted Books

Daphne Du Maurier

I have been very lucky this Christmas and received some amazing books! I read Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier a couple of months ago with my book group and really enjoyed it. My boyfriend got me Frenchman’s Creek and Jamaica Inn for Christmas and I can’t wait to start them. Ever since Rebecca I have been wanting to read more.

The Summer Job by Lizzy Dent

I love the cover of The Summer Job, it’s extremely cute and colourful and it sounds like such a fun read! Thank you Viking Books and the author for sending me a copy to read and review. Look out for the book in April 2021!

Heart Break Café by Janet Quin-Harkin

The Heart Break Café is an eighties series being republished in 2021 and I feel honoured to have been asked to read and review the first book! Even though I was born in the nineties, I still love the nostalgia of the eighties and other decades. I’m sure this will be a fun book to read!

White Trash Warlock by David R. Slayton

As soon as this blog tour was announced for White Trash Warlock a few weeks ago I just had to jump on it. It sounds like a really enjoyable, magical book and because I’m reading Amari and the Night Brothers at the moment I’m really loving magical things right now!

The Unadjusteds by Marisa Noelle

I won The Unadjusteds and The Rise of the Altereds in a giveaway, so thank you so much Marisa and for signing them as well! I am also on the blog tour for this in the next coming months so look out for my review to come!

Gifted E-Books

A Sparrow Alone by Mim Eichmann

Another blog tour incoming! My stop is in a couple of weeks for A Sparrow Alone and I am starting it tomorrow!
It is a Historical fiction, set in the 1890s, so when the tour was announced I had to jump on it as I’ve found a new love for HF in 2020!

Mina and the Undead by Amy McCaw

I was very kindly asked to read and review Mina and the Undead ready fore it’s release in April 2021! Thank you UCLAN Publishing and the author for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review!
This book seems perfect for me and I can’t wait to start it.

I do want to read White Trash Warlock. It sounds great, so I hope you enjoy. And The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is (so far) my favorite Christie novel!!!
