The Institute by Stephen King | Book Review

As The Institute is my first Stephen King book, I didn’t really know what to expect. I have watched some of the film adaptations and yeah, they did scare me. So, I was a bit sceptical about starting it, I like my sleep and I didn’t want to be kept up by ghosties. However! It ended up being more eerie and chilling than scary, but you can’t stop reading because too much is happening.

What Beauty There Is by Cory Anderson | Blog Tour

This was a very last-minute blog tour for me and I dropped everything to start reading this book. It’s not normally something I would pick up but I am so glad I did. As soon as I started reading, I couldn’t stop. The story was completely captivating and the characters were so interesting, it’s very easy to care for them and get wrapped up in their lives. It’s so beautifully written, sometimes like poetry and it is easy to get lost in the snowy setting. It makes the story that bit more chilling and engaging.

The Gilded King by Josie Jaffrey| BBNYA Blog Tour

I very quickly became a fan of Josie Jaffrey last year, so I hopped on the blog for The Gilded King as soon as it was announced. Apart from a couple of Twilight books, I’ve never read any books about vampires but I’ve got to say this book really surprised me. I was instantly hooked and I couldn’t put it down!. The story was fast-paced and engaging, I fell in love with all the characters and couldn’t wait to learn more about them. But I especially love the dark, paranormal and dystopian twists throughout as well as the romance between some of the characters.

Ranger’s Oath by Blake Arthur Peel | BBNYA Blog Tour

Let me just start off by saying I loved this book!! I started it the other night after work and before I knew it I was nearly done. I couldn’t believe how quickly I managed to get through it. The story is easy to follow and I instantly fell in love with the world of mages, rangers and demons. The way the author describes the world makes it easy to visualise. It felt like I was there sometimes.

Marrow Charm by Kristin Jacques | Blog Tour

I’m a big fan of fantasy, dystopian books, especially when magic is involved and Marrow Charm had all of this. It was a bit overwhelming to begin with as you get thrown into this magical world, full of non-stop action. It then became extremely hard not to be consumed by the dystopian, creative world and I quickly became hooked until the very end!
