Book Tag

The Anonymous Bookaholic Tag

It’s been so long since I’ve done a tag post, I got tagged by the lovely Hooked with Books to do this one! If you haven’t already go and check out her amazing blog!

Question 1 – What do you like about buying new books?

One of my favourite things about buying books is bringing them home and popping them on my bookcase! I just really enjoy finding new ways to organise my books, especially to save space because I’m running a bit low…

I’m sure like a lot of people having a nice new book just feels great and you just can’t deny that new book smell!

Question 2 – How often do you buy new books?

Not as often as I want to! I try to buy a couple new ones each month around payday. I rarely ever buy anything for myself anymore these days, so I fill the void with book!

Question 3 – Bookstore or online shopping? Which do you prefer?

Definitely going to a bookstore. I could stay in there all day looking at the books if I could. I don’t think I would have found some of the amazing books I have if I didn’t go to bookstores.

Question 4 – Do you have a favourite bookshop?

Waterstones is one of my favourite bookstores but recently I’ve been going to a lot of charity shops to search for books. It’s really fun going to all the different ones and seeing what weird and wonderful books they have.

I’ve also been looking for some independent bookstores around where I live so I can start going there on a regular basis. I will make sure to let everyone know when I’ve found some!

Question 5 – Do you pre-order books?

I’ve only ever pre-ordered a book if I’m waiting for one in a series to come out. But the past couple of weeks I have been adding books to a list ready to pre-order when get paid.

Question 6 – Do you have a monthly buying limit?

Not really, I kind of limit myself to 2 or 3 books a month. But if there is something I really want to read right there and then, I will just go and buy it haha!

Question 7 – How big is your wish list?

My wish lists isn’t actually too big! I’m more of a buy a book on a whim kinda person. But I really need to start adding more books to it so I don’t keep forgetting what I want to read.

Question 8 – Which three books from your wish list do you wish you could own right now?

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig – I’ve heard such good things about this book and just really want to read it. Plus the cover is beautiful!

Half A World Away by Mike Gayle – I can’t get away from this book! I see if all over social media and there a lot of amazing reviews for it.

The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley – I’ve read The Guest List by Lucy Foley, absolutely loved it and can’t wait to read this one. (I’ve just been out and bought this book just before I published this post!)

Thanks so much for this fun bookish tag – I will be putting up my post soonest and will credit you for it. I loved your answers and hats off to you for not having a giant TBR – I wish I could be like you 🙂

Look out for my post!

This is a really cool feature! 🙂 Like you, I prefer going to bookstores vs buying online. Buying online just doesn’t make me as fulfilled.

I try so hard to be careful about how often I buy books, but there are so many that I want!

I really want to read The Midnight Library too. I don’t have a set book buying budget, and I don’t always buy books every month. Some are heavier than others though – just kind of depends. I’ve only ever pre-ordered a few books though.

I loved your answers, possibly because I found them so relatable! I try to limit the number of books I buy as well, to about two or three per month. It is also wonderful when you find a book on your TBR in a charity shop, and in great condition
